To welcome this year’s highly anticipated Flower Expo, the Taichung City Government, in collaboration with district offices and agricultural associations, has guided farmers to utilize fallow farmland during their off-seasons in districts such as Wufeng, Dajia, Waipu, Longjing, Wuqi, Houli, Shengang, and Xitun. These areas have been planted with ornamental green manure crops including cosmos, sunflowers, German chamomile, and rapeseed flowers. The blooms are expected to gradually flourish around mid-January, with a flowering period of about three weeks. Visitors are welcome to come and admire the beautiful flower seas.
The city’s Agriculture Bureau stated that planting ornamental green manure crops during the fallow period not only beautifies the urban landscape and suppresses weed overgrowth, but timely plowing can also increase soil organic matter content and reduce the need for chemical fertilizers in the next crop cycle—offering numerous benefits. The optimal viewing period for the flower seas is expected to span from mid-January through the Lunar New Year holiday. Be sure to plan your visit during this prime time.

1. Wufeng District: Surrounding Asia University (Fengzheng Road, Fuxin Road, Dingtai Road, Wufeng Interchange, Zhongzheng Road, Fengzheng Road, Section 2 of Zhongtou West Road, Wufu West Road)
2. Dajia District: Xingfu Li (Farmlands along both sides of Dongming Road)
3. Waipu District: Yongfeng Li (Liufen Road), Wangyou Valley (from Wugu Road to Ciyao Levee), Surroundings of Sanhuan Road (from Sanhuan Road to San] Road), Zhongshan Li, Liufen Li on Waipu Road, Xincuo Road
4. Longjing District: Surrounding Longjing Railway Station (Lane 221, Section 1, Zhonghua Road; Lane 185, Qiaotou Road)
5. Wuqi District: Lunzi Lane on Xuetian Road
6. Houli District: Surrounding Tai’an Railway Station (Anmei Road, Zhongge East Road, Fumei Road, Hexing Road / Sanlu Road, Fuxing Road)
7. Shengang District: Both sides of the Tan-Ya-Shen Greenway
8. Xitun District: Guangfu Li
