AMD Teams Up with the Wilderness Conservation Association for the Green Living Island-Cycling Tour

Cycling around Taiwan is one of the hottest leisure activities today. AMD, a U.S.-based semiconductor company, has joined forces with the Wilderness Conservation Association of the Republic of China for the first time to promote wetland restoration and carbon reduction through the “AMD Green Living Island-Cycling Tour.” Led by AMD’s Green Living Ambassador—former news anchor and cycling blogger Wei Huaxuan—the tour rallies the “Green IT Bicycle Alliance” and cyclists across Taiwan to join this charitable island-wide ride. Starting October 22 from the circular plaza of the Tamsui Riverbank Park, the 17-day, 1,200-kilometer green ecological cycling exploration will commence.

AMD, a U.S.-based semiconductor company, is joining forces with the Wilderness Conservation Association of the Republic of China for the first time to launch the “AMD Green Living Island-Cycling Tour.”

Not only that, the leading actor of “Island Etude,” Dong Mingxiang, will also participate in the Green Island cycling segment. The route will follow the well-planned bike paths of riverside parks to Guandu and Bali, continue along the West Coast Highway, and offer stunning coastal scenery. Throughout the 17-day journey, to deeply explore iconic wetlands across the island and document Taiwan’s ecological and cultural landscapes, the Wilderness Conservation Association has specially arranged local volunteers to serve as guides at each destination. These guides will provide unique insights into ecological highlights such as the Hsinchu Xiangshan Wetland, Chiayi Lantan Reservoir, and Kaohsiung Zhouzi Wetland. A documentary will be filmed throughout the trip, and a support vehicle will be provided. Additionally, early next year, Lion Group will compile Wei Huaxuan’s sharing and ecological insights into a commemorative book on the island-cycling journey.

Numerous well-known companies, such as Kodak Taiwan and Topeak, are not only sponsoring but also supporting the donation campaign initiated by AMD. For every kilometer Wei Huaxuan completes, these companies will jointly donate NT$100 to the Wilderness Conservation Association as part of the Nature Care Fund. In addition to the “1 kilometer = NT$100” initiative, an online charity auction will officially kick off on Yahoo! Auctions on October 22 to gather donations for the Wilderness Conservation Association. The event will feature charity auctions of AMD Green Living Island-Cycling commemorative jerseys, classic AMD yellow jerseys, and various other commemorative items starting at just NT$1.
