Madame Tussauds Bangkok opens at Siam Discovery in December
Merlin Entertainments Group, an entertainment company with fans around the world, plans to establish Madame Tussauds Bangkok on December 4, 2010. This latest attraction, built with an investment of 500 million Thai baht, will be the tenth Madame Tussauds globally and the third in Asia—joining existing locations in Hong Kong and Shanghai—and the first in Southeast Asia.
Madame Tussauds Bangkok is located on the sixth floor of Siam Discovery shopping mall and is a must-visit attraction for all travelers. Its modern design and striking architecture will make it a new landmark in the Siam area.
Like other Madame Tussauds locations, Bangkok’s version features 70 internationally and locally renowned historical figures, global leaders, as well as personalities from the arts and sciences—such as Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth II, Thailand’s third Prime Minister Field Marshal Plaek Pibulsonggram, as well as famous figures like Beethoven, Einstein, and Thai royal poet Sunthorn Phu. It also includes globally acclaimed celebrities from film, music, and sports such as Michael Jackson, David Beckham, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie.
Bangkok’s nightlife is also quite vibrant, as shown here at the famous backpacker haven, Khao San Road.
The full interactive experience and wax figures will be unveiled on opening day within the 2,000-square-meter attraction, currently under strict confidentiality.
