Kaohsiung County’s Heartfelt Bus Launches 88 NT$ Explore Tour
To revitalize tourism in the reconstruction areas of Kaohsiung County, the county government has launched the “Kaohsiung County Heartfelt Bus 88 Tour” from now until November 8. For just 88 NT$, participants can visit reconstruction model sites such as Jiaxian, Shanlin, and Qishan.

The Heartfelt Bus takes visitors to spots including the Shanlin Yuemei Tzu Chi Park, Jiaxian Image Business District, Shanlin Gourd Carving Art Museum, and Qishan Old Street. Guests can learn about post-disaster industrial recovery efforts, taste indigenous cuisine, appreciate exquisite local handicrafts, and on the way back, shop for bananas and taro products as souvenirs.
The tour costs only 88 NT$ (excluding lunch, admission fees, and personal expenses). Trips run from October 1 to November 8, with a minimum of 25 participants per departure, every day. Travelers must register and pay at least three days before departure. Jiaxian is known for its taro production and is located in northeastern Kaohsiung County. The township is famous for its taro and bamboo shoots. Its betel nut-heart taro is large, fluffy, and perfect for making processed goods. Qishan Old Street is located in Qishan Town, Kaohsiung County, formerly known as Fan Shu Liao Street. Stretching from the old sugar factory railway station in Qishan, the street was once driven by the local sugar industry. It features arched sidewalks made of stacked stones and buildings characterized by red brick facades with Renaissance-Baroque styling.
