On January 31, 2016, the “Snow Call – HowToTrip’s First Corporate Ski Competition,” organized by HowToTrip, was successfully held at Beijing Junshan Ski Resort. Hosting a corporate-level ski competition not only celebrates the joint bid of Beijing and Zhangjiakou to host the 2022 Winter Olympics but also aims primarily to provide opportunities and a venue for outdoor enthusiasts within companies to meet and interact through a combination of online and offline methods, thereby creating an outdoor ecological community for businesses on HowToTrip.
As the first corporate ski competition, it attracted eight outstanding companies with strong outdoor DNA, including Explorer, Global Ski, Jiayuan.com, LeEco Outdoor, eBag Wash, Ehang Drones, and Meituan Travel. The event featured not only nearly professional-level giant slalom races but also fun competitions such as tug-of-war on snow and ski mountaineering, adding entertainment and interaction to the entire activity. Though these office workers may appear “graceful and composed” in their workplaces, they turned into “ski maniacs” the moment they hit the slopes, and everyone had a blast by the end of the event. How would you feel if you had to run down the ski slope in ski boots and carrying your skis? Xiao Ye really wants to ask: how much psychological trauma did the contestants suffer? But after interviewing multiple participants post-event, they all said they had no trauma—instead, they had a great time. Some even mentioned that all their work stress from the week was relieved during the competition.
After all, it’s a competition—fun yet “painful.” Then came the climax—Results Announcement:
