Introduction:

This stone carving was discovered in July 1985 after being reported by Zhu Zhongshun, a local cultural relics protection officer from the township, and Yang Guixi, a cultural relics protection officer from Shengmi Town. The sculpture is carved into the red stone wall on the inner side of a gate wall. It has a total length of 7.3 meters and a height of 4.9 meters. The layer of carvings is 15 centimeters thick, arranged in three horizontal rows—upper, middle, and lower—with each row featuring three tiers of figures. The outermost layer consists entirely of high relief carvings. The entire scene includes 77 human and animal figures depicting the stories of Guo Ziyi’s Birthday Celebration and Jiang Taigong Fishing. The figures are accurately and vividly rendered, showcasing exquisite carving techniques. These carvings are a rare find in both Nanchang City and Xinjian County.
