At over 90 years old, Grandpa Zhu started the stall to help cover his wife’s nursing care expenses after she suffered a stroke. The stall sells QQ eggs for one yuan each, sesame balls for five yuan each, and French fries for 15 yuan per portion. Not only are the prices cheap, but the food is also hearty and filling.

3. Wanan Night Market’s Five-Yuan Red Bean Pancakes
Hidden away in Tainan’s Wanan Night Market, these five-yuan red bean pancakes are run by an elderly couple in their 60s. Every flavor is just five yuan. Though the stall is small, the fillings are generous, rich, and never skimped on.

4. Ding Ding Rice Balls
Coming from Taichung, Ding Ding Rice Balls combines a youthful, Japanese-inspired creative style. Each rice ball is handmade by the owner and packed with generous fillings, all for just 50 yuan each.
