The Nanchang City China Arts and Crafts Masters Museum, located on the campus of Nanchang Institute of Technology in Nanchang City, is China's first and only specialized museum built to honor 532 government-recognized Chinese Arts and Crafts Masters. Organized by Jiangxi Chaoxian Holding Co., Ltd. and Nanchang Institute of Technology, leveraging their resource advantages, university background, and distinctive ethnic education features, the museum has been developed into a premium exhibition base, a master skills transmission hub, an academic exchange center, a teaching observation platform, and a cross-disciplinary networking space for China’s Arts and Crafts Masters. This initiative aims to promote the development of China's arts and crafts industry, preserve national culture, and protect the splendid and diverse intangible cultural heritage.

Traditional Chinese arts and crafts are a unique human cultural heritage formed through long-term development, rooted in the profound cultural foundation of the Chinese nation. They are an important part of Chinese civilization and traditional culture. Renowned both domestically and abroad for their distinctive materials, ingenious designs, and exquisite craftsmanship, they are treasured by people around the world and play a positive role in enhancing international cultural exchange and friendship among peoples of the world.

After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Party and the government placed great emphasis on the prosperity and development of Chinese arts and crafts. As early as the early years of the nation’s establishment, the guiding principle of “protect, develop, and improve” was clearly put forward. According to the State Council’s "Regulations on the Protection of Traditional Arts and Crafts," relevant authorities have organized seven rounds of evaluations between 1979 and 2018, conferring the honorary title of “China Arts and Crafts Master” on 532 outstanding artisans. However, there is currently no museum in China specifically dedicated to these 532 masters, making it difficult for future generations to gain a comprehensive understanding or systematically appreciate their masterpieces and craftsmanship.
