Fengleyuan

Fengleyuan is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Xingtai Fengleyuan is located in the eastern part of Lincheng County, Xingtai City. It is a national AAAA-level tourist scenic area and a national agricultural tourism demonstration site, covering an area of over 3,000 acres.

　It lies 3 kilometers east of National Highway 107, 6 kilometers west of the county seat, and south of Provincial Highway Nan’ao Line, offering very convenient transportation.

Development & Construction

Xingtai Fengleyuan was first established in 1998. The park was part of the “Ten Thousand Mu Wasteland Development Project” implemented by the Municipal Transportation Bureau in response to the national slogan of “Poverty Alleviation and Wasteland Greening.” In order to address the reemployment of road maintenance workers, Comrade Fan Yongfeng, then Deputy Director of the Municipal Transportation Bureau and Head of the Highway Division, and a National Model Worker, seized the opportunity presented by the national campaign for poverty alleviation and greening of wastelands. He proposed the vision of venturing into the Taihang Mountains to develop the barren land. A total of 10,000 acres of wasteland were contracted in Lincheng, Neiqiu, and Xingtai counties, establishing a “One Zone, Two Bases” model — a Wasteland Development Pilot Zone for Poverty Alleviation, a Base for the Reassignment of Transportation Workers, and a Base for Tourism, Recuperation, and Entertainment for Transportation Workers. The Lincheng wasteland base was designated as the development pilot zone.

Current Status of the Scenic Area

After several years of development and construction, Fengleyuan has transformed from a barren hillside overgrown with weeds and strewn with gravel into a lush, fruit-scented, picturesque mountain dotted with lakes and mountain reflections. The park has planted 450,000 high-quality and rare fruit trees, including winter jujube, Chinese longevity peach, American Kate apricot, Golden Sun apricot, black and red gem plums, and thin-shelled walnuts, forming 38 varieties across five major series that allow visitors to pick fruits in different seasons. There are also 12 artificial lakes, one hunting ground, one deer park, one hotel, and three villas, making it an agricultural eco-tourism garden that integrates sightseeing, fruit picking, leisure, and recuperation.

Major Attractions

The main attractions in the park include: the Hunting Ground, Deer Park, Brotherhood Slope, Birds’ Chirping Valley, Linfeng Pavilion, Apricot Grove, Peach Orchard, Special Breeding Farm, Yuntong Temple, Golden Autumn Amusement Area, and more than 20 other sites.

Scenic Area Honors

On October 25, 2005, it was recognized by the National Tourism Administration as a “National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site,” and in 2008, it was promoted to a national AAAA-level scenic area.
