Qishan Lake is located in the Qishan Lake Scenic Area, 2.5 kilometers southwest of Kongshan Baiyun Cave. Constructed in 1958, it is an artificial reservoir primarily used for agricultural irrigation in the county, with a water storage capacity of 176 million cubic meters. The lake water is clear and unpolluted, meeting national water quality standards at Grade II.

The lake boasts a vast expanse of water and long shorelines, providing ideal natural conditions for developing vacationing, swimming, fishing, water play, and recreational activities. The planned development area of the scenic zone spans 30 square kilometers, including 8 square kilometers of water surface. Here, the lake water is crystal-clear and tranquil; the shallow areas by the shore are light green, while the deeper central parts are deep blue, reflecting the distant mountains to create a picturesque scene of green waters and blue hills. At the northwest end of the lake, water floods over forested pools, with trees growing in the water, water flowing through the woods, and boats gliding amidst the foliage—offering a uniquely beautiful landscape.

The lake is rich in delicious aquatic resources, home to dozens of species of shallow-water fish, including grass carp weighing over 100 jin (approximately 50 kg), softshell turtles as large as wok lids, and several-inch-long lake shrimp. In autumn, wild ducks are often seen resting or flying overhead, adding a wild charm to the scenery. The surrounding low hills and gardens feature undulating green lawns; the sandy beaches along the shore are soft and white. Looking westward, rows of mountains appear inky. Like a flawless sapphire, the lake is quietly nestled at the foot of the majestic Taihang Mountains. With its spring-like climate all year round, serene and peaceful atmosphere, and the reflection of undulating peaks on the water, motorboats speed across the surface, sending up sprays of waves—a true “heaven on earth.” Its graceful beauty and tranquil elegance not only delight nature lovers but also captivate those who find joy in water.

Currently, large-scale amusement facilities such as the “Log Flume,” the Chinese Famous Towers Garden, and a resort villa complex have been completed. Ongoing developments around the lake include the lakeside highway, the Green Island Eco-Tech Demonstration Park, Blue Sky Green Manor, and a paintball club, all progressing in an orderly manner.
