Wanjialing Scenic Area

The Wanjialing Scenic Area is located in the southwestern part of Dean County, 27 kilometers from the county seat. It is home to the site of the Battle of Wanjialing, one of the three most famous battles of the War of Resistance Against Japan, which General Ye Ting praised as “saving Nanchang from peril, safeguarding the Jianghan region, and standing alongside the victories at Pingxingguan and Taierzhuang—its illustrious fame shall be immortal.” It is a renowned “victory site of the War of Resistance,” and has been awarded the title of Provincial Patriotic Education Base. The area features a natural mountain cave called the “Fairy Cave.” The cave remains warm in winter and cool in summer, and houses stunning natural stalactites that showcase the marvels of nature. There are also two “Treasure Springs,” whose waters are crystal clear and cool all year round, with a refreshing taste. The springs contain various trace elements beneficial to human health and hold great potential for development. Additionally, the area is abundant in local produce such as silkworm farming, greenhouse vegetables, chestnuts, early-ripening pears, American nectarines, and honey peaches, forming a

picturesque “mountain of flowers and fruits” countryside.
