Shimen Chen Village

Shimen Chen inherited the fine family traditions of the Yimen Chen clan, living together in this place for over two hundred years without dividing the family. However, during the Ming Dynasty, the Chen family produced two famous brothers: Ziwan and Zi’an. As both were exceptionally talented, the Chen clan decided to split into two branches, with each brother leading one. This gave them the opportunity to showcase their talents, which is why Shimen Chen now features two ancestral halls—a rare phenomenon in clan culture. The two brothers lived up to their family’s values and teachings, each expanding their family enterprises. The descendants of Ziwan and Zi’an further developed their clan businesses, extending them to areas such as Jiujiang Prefecture and Dehua City.

Nowadays, the entire Shimen village enjoys a beautiful environment and harmonious neighborly relations, truly becoming a heavenly paradise on earth. The people of Shimen Chen even composed a poem themselves: “A picturesque scene with endless beauty, where sunshine, rain, heat, and cold balance with ease. Rejoicing in reform and the improved lives of the people, we build a new village that will be praised for generations.”
