Shuangjing Mingyue Bay

A long, long time ago, according to geologists, the Xiu River originally flowed along the foot of Hangshan Mountain, winding around in a large “U”-shaped bend. Legend has it that one year, the Moon Goddess descended to the mortal world and, upon seeing the uniquely shaped mountains and enchanting scenery here, was moved by its beauty and decided to stay. So she straightened the river, causing the northern bank to accumulate into a vast alluvial plain — a rare fertile land in the Mufu Mountains — where the people of Shuangjing Village settled. To the south of the alluvial plain, the river meanders gently around the mountains, resembling a crescent moon. The water is as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the sky, light, and mountain hues. As the Xiu River flows through this area, it suddenly becomes tranquil and serene, its waters calm and waveless. When touched by a gentle breeze and bright moon, the river and moonlight blend into a harmonious scene, creating a unique charm that has earned this place the name Mingyue Bay, or Moon Bay.
