Yangjiaping Scenic Area

The Yangjiaping State-owned Forest Farm is located in the southeastern part of Xiushui County, on the western foothills of the Jiuling Mountain Range, and is one of the eight major forest farms in our province. It covers a total area of 115,000 mu, preserving nearly 10,000 mu of primeval and secondary forests. Its highest peak reaches 1,473.5 meters, with most of the forestland situated between 600 and 1,000 meters above sea level. The average annual temperature is 15°C. The area is home to over 700 species of woody plants, more than 800 species of herbaceous plants, and over 60 species of ferns, totaling more than 1,600 species, including over 50 rare and endangered species. Among them, three are under national first-class or provincial first-class protection, and over 40 are under national second-class or provincial second- and third-class protection. At the entrance of the forest farm, you can find the ruins of the Immortal Maiden Pagoda built in the late Song and early Yuan dynasties, the Tomb of the Divine Child Prince, the stele of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty known as the "Heavenly Land Tablet," a ten-mile stretch of wild yellow flowers at the mountain top, the Hakka Tianweili area, the former site of the "Temporary County Soviet Government of the Xiutongyifeng Border Region" at the old revolutionary base of Aizikeng, the Cottonwo Pit Arsenal, the Taro Pit Sewing Workshop, the Fangkeng Red Army Hospital, and the ruins of the Third Soviet Government at Xiakeng.
