Former Site of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Special Committee of the CPC

The Former Site of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Special Committee of the CPC is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province and a classic red tourism destination.

In the autumn of 1928, the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Special Committee assigned Comrade Huang Maolin to work at Kantouao in Mading, Shangfeng, located at the border of four counties amid towering mountains. Around Mading, Yangjiaping, Huanggang, Hejiazui, and Datuan in Tonggu, he developed a group of CPC members including Zhang Songfa and established a special branch. In 1930, the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Special Committee of the CPC established the Xiutongyifeng Special Committee at Huangjiatang in Mading. In May 1932, a party congress of the four counties was held at Huangjiatang in Mading, attended by over 100 delegates, leading to the establishment of the Provisional County Party Committee of Xiutongyifeng. In late May, the first Workers-Peasants-Soldiers Congress of the Xiutongyifeng Border Region was convened at Aizikeng in Yangjiaping, with over 100 delegates in attendance, resulting in the formation of the Provisional County Soviet Government of the four counties. Under the leadership of the county party committee and the county soviet, the people of the four counties engaged in brave and tenacious struggles against the enemy, pinning down enemy forces, consolidating and expanding the base area, and alleviating pressure on the central base area of Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi.
