Child-Embracing Rock
The Child-Embracing Rock stands about 20 meters tall, shaped like a cone with a base diameter of around 10 meters, and is surrounded by water on three sides. About three-quarters of the way up its side, a protruding rock formation rises roughly 3 meters high, resembling a loving mother cradling her child as she stands by the river. It is said that locals from Xiushui are reluctant to leave their hometown because of this rock formation in the southeastern part of the county, standing by the Xiushui River bank, waiting for her husband’s return. A local poem reads: “Clouds form tents in all directions, grass becomes clothing through all seasons; never hearing her child cry all day, when will she see her husband return?”
