The former site of the underground liaison station of the Xiushui County Committee of the Communist Party of China during the War of Resistance Against Japan is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province and a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the underground liaison station of the Xiushui County Committee of the Communist Party of China is located at No. 24 Parrot Street, Huangtuling, Yining Town, Xiushui County.

After the fall of Wuhan in October 1938, in order to unite all anti-Japanese forces, combat the stubborn elements of the Kuomintang, and carry out united front work with the anti-Japanese troops stationed in Xiushui such as the 30th Army Group of the Kuomintang, under the instructions of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Special Committee and the Xiushui County Committee of the Communist Party of China, Yang Ba’ai, an underground member of the Communist Party and deputy director of the Xiushui County People’s Anti-Enemy Support Association, established an underground liaison station under the guise of founding the “Ba’ai Hospital.”

At that time, the Xiushui County Committee was located in Man’ao Township, 60 li away from the county seat. Yang Ba’ai often walked to Man’ao with underground party members who came to work in Xiushui to contact Gan Zhuowu, the secretary of the County Committee, and receive tasks. Underground party members in the Kuomintang garrison also maintained contact with the Xiushui County Committee through Yang Ba’ai. On March 29, 1940, Yang Ba’ai was assassinated by Kuomintang agents, and Ba’ai Hospital subsequently ceased its underground activities.

The former site of the underground liaison station of the Xiushui County Committee of the Communist Party of China is a Western-style building with a brick-and-wood structure, covering a construction area of 180 square meters. In September 2007, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Xiushui County by the Xiushui County People’s Government.
