Wannian Zhuxi National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Wannian will invest 160 million yuan to develop its local Zhuxi River Wetland Park into an ecological and cultural national wetland park.

Wannian Zhuxi River Wetland Park was approved as a provincial-level wetland park in 2010 and as a national wetland park in 2012. The park includes the Dagangqiao Reservoir and the Zhuxi River section above Longxi Bridge. The total land area is 1,025.1 hectares, of which the wetland area totals 506.8 hectares, accounting for 49.4% of the land area. It is reported that 180 million yuan had been invested during the creation of the provincial-level park, funding projects such as Jinhu Park, the riverside development project, the New Century Square, and the sewage treatment plant. The planning and construction period for the national wetland park is nine years, from 2012 to 2020.

The planned construction funding is 160 million yuan, of which 53.09 million yuan is allocated for conservation project construction. The main components include: wetland conservation and preservation; wetland research, monitoring, and education; and wetland park management.

It incorporates diverse cultural elements such as rice farming culture, pearl culture, and water conservancy culture as its core values. The park features a composite ecosystem of rural rivers and adjacent ecological zones as its landscape highlight. Its purpose is to protect the integrity of the wetland ecosystem, maintain wetland ecology, and fully leverage the various ecological services provided by the wetlands. The park emphasizes the protection of rural rivers, the near-natural restoration of urban rivers, and the promotion of wetland cultures such as rice farming, pearl cultivation, and water conservancy. Its primary goals include urban flood control and disaster prevention, rational use of water resources, wetland science education, wetland culture exhibition, and urban wetland park leisure. The result is a comprehensive national wetland park integrating wetland conservation, restoration, cultural display, science education, research and monitoring, wetland sightseeing and experience, and leisure tourism.
