The Birthplace of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army is a classic site of red tourism.

Located in Qichuan Yuan Village, about 5 kilometers northeast of Qigong Town, at the confluence of three long ridges, the area features rugged and concealed terrain that provided favorable conditions for engaging in struggle against enemies. In the autumn of 1925, under the direct leadership of Fang Zhimin, a peasant association was established in Qichuan Yuan Village. It was one of the earlier peasant associations formed after Hutang Village. Fang Zhimin and other leaders of the peasant movement also selected Qichuan Yuan as a pilot site for launching the “Struggle Against Local Tyrants, Rent and Interest Reduction” campaign. Through the struggle in Qichuan Yuan, valuable experience was gained and later promoted throughout the county and even the entire Jiangxi Province. At the end of October 1927, Qichuan Yuan Village served as the departure point for the uprising forces of the Ninth District of Yiyang. In February 1928, when the Yiyang-Hengfeng Uprising faced setbacks, Fang Zhimin and others promptly reviewed their experiences and lessons. They selected over 20 key members of the Peasant Revolutionary Corps and formed a company of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army in Qichuan Yuan. This marked the birth of the first formal Workers' and Peasants' armed force in northeastern Jiangxi.
