Situated on the southern bank of the Xin River in Yingtan City, Riverside Park is a riverside landscape greenbelt that combines natural scenery, ecological culture, and leisure entertainment. After its completion, the park links up with Yingtan Park, East Lake Park, and Plum Garden Park to form a 10-li-long, nearly 1,000-acre ecological landscape corridor, offering residents a great place for sightseeing, leisure, and entertainment, and creating a beautiful urban scenic view.

Ripples dance upon its surface, eagles soar above; embracing the elegance of the Xin River and enjoying the ethereal charm of Taoist realms. Just look to the southern bank of the Xin River — four gardens and one street, balancing strength and grace; where mountains, waters, Taoism, and bronze blend, and every step reveals a new scene; a harmonious union of heaven, earth, and humanity, carving out the imprints of the times.

The second phase of Riverside Park is located along the southern bank of the Xin River in the city center, connecting to Yanjiang Avenue to the south, and linking successively from west to east with Yingtan Park, East Lake Park, and Plum Garden Park, forming a 10-li ecological landscape corridor and the overall layout of a "Riverside Grand Park." It corresponds with the under-development Xinjiang New District across the river, together forming a green ecological landscape environment on both banks of the Xin River. This project was constructed and organized by the Municipal Public Construction Group Company, whose commitment to high quality and efficiency ensured that Phase II of Riverside Park opened to the public as scheduled. The design philosophy of the park’s second phase is inspired by Taoist culture, with the theme of "the Way of Nature," interpreting this concept throughout the site. The overall form draws inspiration from the duster — a symbolic representation of Taoist ideology — reflecting the Taoist principle that softness can contain strength. The landscape transitions fluidly between hardness and softness, achieving a gradual shift from the artificial to the natural from south to north. The park is divided into three zones: the Old Wharf Culture Area, the Landscape Sightseeing Area, and the Riverbank Ecological Area. Through the principles of "managing water, controlling temperature, planting greenery, and crafting scenery," it organically integrates the "river, shore, city, and people," ultimately establishing a waterfront landscape and cultural corridor, creating an open leisure axis along the river, and constructing an urban green ecological corridor.

The second phase of Riverside Park covers an area of approximately 230,000 square meters, stretches 2.7 kilometers in length, and has a total investment of 280 million yuan. The design ensures smooth connections between Phase II and Phase I, as well as with Yingtan Park and East Lake Park. It preserves existing large trees, some original steps, and docks, maintaining the city’s cultural memory. The design also balances the needs of urban flood control with the desire for public water-side activities, effectively managing changes in elevation. Additionally, it draws on design methods from the Expo Park at the Shanghai World Expo, incorporating a range of ecological technologies such as landscape misting systems and permeable concrete. These enhance the ecological service functions of the riverside transitional space, with landscape forms mimicking nature to showcase the original ecological beauty of the riverbank.

The grand opening of Riverside Park has further improved the structure of Yingtan’s green space system, greatly enhanced the environment and landscape of the city’s old urban area, expanded leisure and recreational space for residents, and provided a nearby, high-quality activity venue for the local population. At the same time, the environmental improvements brought by the park's construction can further boost economic development in surrounding urban areas. This holds significant importance for Yingtan’s goal of becoming an ecologically livable city and achieving leapfrog development along both banks of the river.
