Yingtan Museum is a patriotic education base.

The Yingtan City Museum was established in 1984. In August 2000, the municipal government applied to the Ministry of Culture, the National Cultural Heritage Administration, and the China Taoist Association for approval to build a new museum. It is located on Huxi Road in Yingtan and is also known as the “China Taoist Cultural Relics Collection Museum.”

The Yingtan City Museum is an iconic building of Chinese Taoist culture and is currently the only Taoist cultural relics collection museum in China. One of its main functions is to collect and restore Taoist cultural relics scattered among the public. It is also responsible for the safekeeping, restoration, exhibition, and research of cultural relics unearthed, excavated, or transferred in the Yingtan area. The museum currently has 10 professional staff members. The total building area is 3,856 square meters, consisting of a four-story framed structure. The supervising authority is the Yingtan Municipal Bureau of Culture. In 2006, it was designated as a municipal patriotic education base.

The Yingtan City Museum houses a collection of over 2,900 cultural relics, including 2 national first-class relics, 20 second-class relics, and 195 third-class relics. There are four exhibition halls in total: Hall One focuses on relics unearthed from the cliff tomb clusters of the Yue people during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods in the Yingtan area; Hall Two mainly displays premium Taoist cultural relics from Yingtan; Hall Three exhibits relics excavated from the Jiaoshan Kiln site dating back more than 3,400 years to the Shang Dynasty; and Hall Four is a temporary exhibition hall.

The Yingtan City Museum opened to the public as a designated city tourist attraction in October 2005. In addition to offering free admission to students and senior citizen groups, it became completely free to all Yingtan residents in 2006. Every year during major holidays, as a patriotic education base, the museum collaborates extensively with local schools and communities to carry out diverse and enriching patriotic education activities. It receives over 200,000 visitors annually, including residents and students, and provides vivid and extensive patriotic education through images, artifacts, audio, guided tours, and more.
