Tianbei Farmer Painting Village in Wan’an County is a national 3A-level tourist attraction and a 4A-level tourism site in Jiangxi Province. The village is located in Gaobei Town, which is one of the first key towns for small-town development in Jiangxi, known as China’s Hometown of Farmer Paintings, China’s Hometown of Masked Palm Civets, and the province’s Best Greening Township.

Gaobei Town has organically combined the development of beautiful countryside with the growth of the cultural industry, striving to build Tianbei Farmer Painting Village into a comprehensive farmer painting industry base integrating creation, exhibition, training, sketching, sales, and leisure tourism. This aims to provide a better platform for the development of farmer paintings in Wan’an.

Tianbei Farmer Painting Village features attractions such as the China Farmer Painting Fine Art Exhibition Hall, Danqing Lake, the Bideng People’s Gallery Archway, Nian’an Pavilion, the Paintbrush Square, and hundred-acre rapeseed flower fields.

“Painted Village Life” Xilang Mountain seamlessly connects with Tianbei Painting Village, aiming to create a national pilot village for tourism-driven poverty alleviation and a model for all-for-one tourism. It showcases representative landscape nodes such as the Comprehensive Gallery of Painted Village Life, the History Wall of Farmer Paintings, the Fun Stone Garden, farmer murals, and the Folk Custom Garden — all built with “artisan spirit.” These elements highlight the artistic charm of “a village nestled within paintings” and the timeless ambiance of “people wandering within art.”

Gaobei Town: Located in the northwest of Wan’an County, Gaobei Town borders Shaokou Township to the east, Lutian Town to the south, Suichuan County to the west, and Taihe County to the north. It has a total population of 15,000, governs 9 administrative villages, 1 community, and 109 villager groups. The town covers an area of 125.45 square kilometers, including 8,440 hectares of mountainous land, 1,027 hectares of arable land. The area is rich in resources, with 9 small (Type II) reservoirs, 106,000 mu of forested land, 416,000 bamboo poles, and 397,000 cubic meters of standing timber.
