The Ministry of National Defense is holding the Wan'an Exercise. This year, new drills have been added, including the first-ever test of the “Air Threat Warning System” to simulate evacuation measures in the event of a missile attack. If you encounter the exercise during your trip, be sure to comply with area controls and traffic guidance, avoid going out to prevent penalties (which can be as high as NT$150,000), and assist foreign tourists who may not understand the situation by providing explanations where possible.

Aimed at strengthening civil defense awareness and improving air raid preparedness, the 107th Joint Civil-Military Air Defense Exercise (Wan'an No. 41) was held between May and June. The nationwide exercise covered seven zones: northern, central, southern, and eastern parts of the main island, as well as the outlying islands of Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. It aimed to reduce damage from potential airstrikes, and in 107, practical drills such as pedestrian and vehicle controls, as well as evacuations and sheltering, were carried out.

Below is the 107th Joint Civil-Military Air Defense (Wan'an No. 41) Exercise schedule by region (municipal and county [city] governments):

Northern Region:June 4 (Monday) 1330-1400 hours

Yilan County, Keelung City, Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu City, Hsinchu County Government

Southern Region:June 5 (Tuesday) 1330-1400 hours

Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County Government

Kinmen Region:June 5 (Tuesday) 1330-1400 hours

Kinmen County Government

Eastern Region:June 6 (Wednesday) 1330-1400 hours

Hualien County, Taitung County Government

Matsu Region:June 6 (Wednesday) 1330-1400 hours

Lienchiang County Government

Central Region:June 7 (Thursday) 1330-1400 hours

Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County Government

Penghu Region:June 7 (Thursday) 1330-1400 hours
