Dajing Scenic Area

Dajing Scenic Area is located within the Huangyangjie region. In addition to revolutionary historical sites, Dajing also boasts rare alpine pastoral scenery rarely seen in China’s famous mountains and rivers. The residential areas of local residents are serene, with simple and traditional architectural styles. The terraced fields around the villages stretch far into the misty depths. The surrounding mountains present ever-changing views—peaks from one angle, ridges from another—with verdant pines and ancient trees forming dense forests, clear streams flowing through, and even the nationally protected Chinese giant salamander living in the waters.

Highlights:

The area features revolutionary sites such as the former residence of Comrade Mao Zedong and the site of the Red Army medical clinic.

In late October 1927, Mao Zedong led the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army to Jinggangshan, arriving here first. He led the Red Army in connecting with the masses, spreading revolutionary ideals, organizing and arming the people, helping with production, and addressing daily life challenges. A Red Army medical clinic was also established here to provide free treatment to local residents. The revolutionary sites in Dajing have been listed as national key cultural relics protection units and are open to the public.
