Some scenic spots in Jinggangshan reopen as rime ice appears on high mountains

    January 8 marked the first day of the "Sanjiu" period, with many scenic areas in Jiangxi shrouded in clouds and particularly low temperatures in some high-altitude regions. In Jinggangshan, the combination of cold weather and heavy fog created stunning rime ice landscapes, and some scenic spots have begun to reopen. At Mount Sanqing, the tourist roads that were closed a few days ago have now resumed traffic. At Mount Lu, from the afternoon, one-way traffic has been reinstated on the mountain-climbing roads from north to south. According to the weather forecast, Jiangxi will experience another round of snow and rain on the 8th and 9th. Scenic areas advise visitors to call relevant service hotlines before traveling.

 

　   Jinggangshan: Some scenic spots reopen

　　Affected by cold air, Jinggangshan has continued to experience low temperatures and light rain in recent days, often blanketed in thick fog. Previously, due to snowy and slippery roads, all scenic spots in Jinggangshan were closed. On January 8, as snow on the roads gradually melted, the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery and the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum have reopened to visitors, while other scenic spots remain temporarily closed. Additionally, it was reported that under the influence of low temperatures and heavy fog, rime ice has formed on Jinggangshan. 　　Mount Sanqing: Roads have resumed traffic

　　Thanks to efforts by traffic police and road management authorities at Mount Sanqing who spread salt and cleared snow, the roads previously closed due to slippery conditions between Mount Sanqing and Yushan, Wuyuan, and Dexing have now reopened. However, there is still some residual snow on the roads. The scenic area advises drivers to reduce speed and drive carefully, and they may also call the service hotline 0793-2509977 for further information. It was also reported that in response to the recent snowy and rainy weather, the Mount Sanqing Scenic Area has activated relevant contingency plans in advance. Departments including the scenic area administration, information monitoring center, mountain road management, and traffic police are actively carrying out various safety measures. Updates on weather and road conditions will be promptly released via the official website and social media, and maintenance checks have been conducted on the two cable car systems.

 

　　Mount Lu: One-way traffic control begins in the afternoon

　　Starting at 15:45 on January 8, due to snow accumulation on the roads, Mount Lu has implemented one-way traffic control on its mountain-climbing roads. Vehicles going up the mountain must use the northern access road, while vehicles descending must take the southern access road. The scenic area reminds drivers to use snow chains and to proceed with caution.
