Trekking Through Huangshan: An Off-Road Challenge Amidst Breathtaking Scenery
The 12th China Huangshan International Mountaineering Festival & 2016 Huangshan Mountain Trekking Challengeofficially kicked off
On the morning of November 13, the 2016 Huangshan Mountain Trekking Challenge officially kicked off at the scenic southern gate of Huangshan Scenic Area. The event was jointly organized by the Anhui Provincial Sports Bureau and the People’s Government of Huangshan City, and hosted by the Administrative Committee of Huangshan Scenic Area, the Anhui Provincial Social Sports Guidance Center, the People’s Government of Huangshan District, the Anhui Provincial Sports Bureau, Huangshan Tourism Group Co., Ltd., Huangshan Tourism Development Co., Ltd., and Huangshan Extreme Culture & Sports Communication Co., Ltd. Participants competed in a trekking race covering a distance of over 20 kilometers. Notably, the “2016 National Mass Mountaineering Festival & 12th China Huangshan International Mountaineering Festival,” co-organized and hosted by the Chinese Mountaineering Association and the aforementioned entities, also took place concurrently, featuring a 10-kilometer fitness trekking competition.
The joint organization of these two events not only reflected the principle of cost-effective event planning but also combined fitness and off-road challenges to create new highlights. Huangshan Extreme, as the main organizer, has been committed to deeply integrating sports events with Huangshan’s tourism resources to build a well-known sports event brand in Huangshan, actively practicing the “tourism + sports” development concept.
Attendees at the opening ceremony included Li Zongcheng, Director of the Outdoor Sports Department at the Mountaineering Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China; Ren Zefeng, Secretary of the Huangshan Municipal Committee; Feng Chao, Deputy Director of the Science, Education, Culture, Health, and Sports Committee of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Chen Haijun, Deputy Director of the Anhui Provincial Sports Bureau; Huang Linmu, Standing Committee Member of the Huangshan Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Huangshan Scenic Area, and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee; Zhou Tianwei, Standing Committee Member of the Huangshan Municipal Committee and Secretary-General; Zhang Junjie, Vice Chairman of the Huangshan Political Consultative Conference; Ye Zhengjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Huangshan Scenic Area, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee, and President of the Group Company; Liu Yong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Huangshan Municipal Government; and Chen Chaoying, Director of the Huangshan Municipal Sports Bureau.
