The Maoping Scenic Area consists of four parts: Maoping, Baiyun Temple on Buyun Mountain, Dalong, and Taoliao.

Maoping is located west of Huangyangjie and is a scenic area that blends cultural and natural landscapes, with a focus on cultural sites. During the Jinggangshan revolutionary struggle, the leading Party, government, and military organs of the Hunan-Jiangxi border region, as well as the logistics offices of the Red Army, were all stationed here. There are over 20 preserved revolutionary sites, including six that are classified as National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units and eight that are Provincial or County-level Protected Sites. Major sites include the Octagonal Building where Mao Zedong, [name redacted], and Chen Yi once lived, the former site of the Jinggangshan Front Committee and the Hunan-Jiangxi Border Special Committee, the site of the First Congress of the Communist Party in the Hunan-Jiangxi Border Region and the site of the Workers', Peasants', and Soldiers' Government of the border region, and the former site of the Soldiers' Committee of the Fourth Red Army.

-- Maoping is one of the renowned Inner Three Rivers, located west of Huangyangjie. Surrounded by mountains and dense forests, it was once the location of the highest Party, government, and military leadership organs during the Jinggangshan revolutionary struggle.

-- This scenic area combines cultural and natural elements, featuring not only over 20 revolutionary sites but also pastoral landscapes and scenes of small bridges over flowing streams, attracting many visitors.

-- Maoping is the hometown of Long Daodao, one of the Twenty-Four Martyrs of Longhua, and serves as a memorial site for red education.

-- The scenic area enjoys mild weather year-round, with wind comfort and comfort indices meeting tourism suitability standards. Please note that sightseeing buses are available to reach the area.

Maoping Town: Maoping Township is located in the central part of Jinggangshan City, at the foot of Huangyangjie, 35 kilometers northwest of the new city site. The township covers a total area of 42 square kilometers, comprising 6 administrative villages, 39 villager groups, and a population of around 4,000. It is a typical Hakka settlement. The area has a rich cultural and historical background, having produced notable revolutionary figures such as Yuan Wencai, Chen Muping, and Li Xiaofu.
