Historical Value

The Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base was the first rural revolutionary base created under the leadership of Mao Zedong and Zhu De during the Second Revolutionary Civil War period. Its establishment pioneered a revolutionary path of encircling the cities from the countryside and ultimately seizing them. Known as the “Cradle of the Revolution” and the “Foremost Mountain Under Heaven,” it has become a sacred place for tourism, commemoration, visits, and study, as well as a major classroom for patriotic and revolutionary tradition education.

To date, over 100 well-preserved revolutionary sites and relics remain in Jinggangshan (26 of which are listed as Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level). It is hailed as the “Cradle of the Chinese Revolution” and the “Cornerstone of the People’s Republic of China,” serving as the eternal spiritual home of the Communist Party of China.
