Longtan is located 7 kilometers northwest of Ciping. It consists of two scenic areas: Wulongtan (Five-Dragon Pool) and Jinshimian (Golden Lion Face), combining natural and cultural landscapes. The Wushen River is the source of the “Five Pools and Eighteen Waterfalls” in Longtan. After the stream rushes through the Xiaojiang Gorge, it suddenly plunges down the cliffs, then cascades down four steep cliffs in succession, forming a series of five majestic waterfalls and deep pools in a terraced formation—these are the Biyu (Jade), Suolong (Locked Dragon), Zhenzhu (Pearl), Jigu (Drumming), and Yunu (Jade Maiden) pools and waterfalls. A closer look at the five pools reveals crystal-clear waters, swaying tree shadows, cliffs as if carved by knives and axes, peculiar rocks at the base, and lush greenery all around. Looking up at the five waterfalls, each pool holds no ordinary water, and each waterfall resembles a fairy maiden. Let your imagination roam with the scenery, and a thousand graceful images will spring to mind.

Major attractions also include: the Xiaojiang Red Army Hospital, Red Army Cave, Changhong Waterfall, Shuilian Waterfall, Jinshimian (Golden Lion Face), and Golden Turtle Drumming.

Jinggangshan Nature Reserve: Established in 1981, the Jinggangshan Nature Reserve was approved as a national nature reserve in April 2000, covering a total area of 15,873 hectares.
