The Site of the Martyrdom of the Red Army Wounded and Sick at Xiaojing is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province and a classic red tourism attraction.

The Xiaojing Red Army Hospital, the hospital of the Fourth Red Army of China, was rebuilt on the original site according to photos from that time, largely preserving its original appearance. It had 36 wards but could not fully accommodate the treatment of all the wounded and sick at the time, so some lightly injured soldiers were treated in the homes of local villagers. This site marks an important chapter in the history of the Chinese revolution. Zeng Zhi, a female Red Army soldier, served as the first Party branch secretary of the hospital and later became the deputy minister of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

More than 200 wounded and sick soldiers were hospitalized in the Xiaojing Red Army Hospital. In January 1929, during the third “encirclement and suppression” campaign against Jinggangshan by the Kuomintang army, due to the loss of Huangyangjie, over 130 seriously wounded soldiers who couldn't be evacuated in time were driven by the Kuomintang army to a nearby rice field and brutally killed. All of them perished. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the “Xiaojing Red Army Martyrs' Cemetery” was built here.
