The Former Site of the Founding Square of the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army is a classic destination for red tourism.

The Former Site of the Founding Square of the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army is located on the east bank of the Longjiang River in the Longshi Scenic Area of Jinggangshan. On May 4, 1928, over 20,000 people gathered here for a grand military-civilian assembly to celebrate the convergence of the two armies and the establishment of the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army (later renamed the Fourth Army of the Chinese Red Army). At that time, this area was a sandbank, and the platform for the meeting was built using straw barrels, wood, and door panels, covered with sun mats. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the site was restored to its original appearance, and a bronze statue of Mao Zedong and Zhu De shaking hands was erected in front of the platform to commemorate the rendezvous of Zhu and Mao and the birth of the Fourth Red Army.
