Yangqiao Lake in Jinggangshan

Adjacent to Bayilou and Buyun Mountain, Yangqiao Lake served as the main office location for various revolutionary authorities during different stages of the revolution. With beautiful scenery, a tranquil environment, and historic ancient architecture, it is an ideal place for sightseeing and exploring history. Its main attractions include: the former site of the Red Fourth Army Headquarters at Yangqiao Lake, the former site of the CCP Front Committee, the former site of the CCP Hunan-Jiangxi Border Special Committee, and the former site of the Red Army Hospital.

In May 1928, when the Fourth Red Army of China was stationed in Maoping, its headquarters was located here, which also served as the former site of the Signal Corps Headquarters. It trained a group of signalers for the various companies of the Red Fourth Army.

Following Comrade Mao Zedong’s teachings, the Red Army soldiers were skilled not only in combat but also in working with the masses. They often visited local residents to understand their hardships, joined in labor, conducted social surveys, and helped solve various living difficulties for the people, thereby forging a close bond with them. The Jiangxi Provincial People's Government has designated this site as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit.
