Golden Toad Gazing at the Moon on Azalea Mountain

In the dense azalea forest, there are several massive rocks leaning forward and backward, resembling a golden toad that gazes up at the sky day and night. Locals call it the "Golden Toad Gazing at the Moon" rock, one of the scenic highlights of Bijia Mountain. Opposite the "Golden Toad Gazing at the Moon" rock grows a cluster of alpine azalea woods. The toad’s open mouth seems to blow the rallying call of revolution, and the azalea woods seem to be the awakened millions of workers and peasants—almost like a reenactment of the scene described in Chairman Mao’s poem "Bu Sui Xiao - Against the First 'Encirclement' Campaign," written in the spring of 1931 after the victory in the first counter-encirclement campaign.
