Former Site of the Soldiers' Committee of the Fourth Red Army of China

During the Sanwan Reorganization, the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army established Soldiers' Committees at the company level. After the founding of the Fourth Red Army on May 4, 1928, in Longshi, the Soldiers' Committee of the Fourth Red Army was also set up here, with Comrade Chen Yi serving as the director of the committee.

The Soldiers' Committee was an organization composed of representatives democratically elected by the officers and soldiers. It had an executive committee of five to seven members. The tasks of the Soldiers' Committee included: participating in army management, maintaining military discipline, supervising the army’s finances, conducting mass work, and providing political education to new recruits.

The Soldiers' Committee served both as a democratic body within the Red Army and as a supervisory organ among the masses. It played a significant role in implementing democracy within the army, dismantling the feudal mercenary military system, and boosting the revolutionary enthusiasm of officers and soldiers.

In March 1961, the State Council listed this site as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
