The Red Army's Grain-Carrying Trail at Huangyangjie

The Red Army's Grain-Carrying Trail at Huangyangjie is a cultural heritage site protected by Jiangxi Province.

At Huangyangjie, three narrow, rugged mountain paths wind their way up the slopes and converge here: one heads north through Maoping Village, connecting to Yongxin County in Jiangxi Province; one runs west to Dalong Village, leading to Yanling County in Hunan Province; and the third extends south to the Greater and Lesser Wujing Villages on Jinggang Mountain, directly reaching the heart of the former military base of the main Red Army forces — Ciping.

During the Battle of Huangyangjie, the enemy mainly launched attacks on Huangyangjie along the trails from Maoping and Dalong.

To thwart the enemy’s economic blockade, in the winter of 1928, Mao Zedong and Zhu De, together with many Red Army officers and soldiers, used these three mountain paths to carry large quantities of grain from Ninggang up to Ciping and the Greater and Lesser Wujing areas on Jinggang Mountain.
