Former Site of the Rear Guard Office of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army

The Former Site of the Rear Guard Office of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

While establishing the Red Army hospital, the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army also set up a rear guard office in Maoping. The office was located at Xiangshan Nunnery in Maoping, with Yu Benmin, former deputy commander of the First Division of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army, serving as its head.

The establishment of the rear guard office allowed the newly arrived and battle-weary revolutionary troops to set down their “burdens” and relieved their worries. This played an important role in enabling the troops to move forward lightly equipped and begin operations along the Hunan-Jiangxi border. Yu Benmin, as the deputy commander, made significant contributions to this effort.
