Pengshanling Tunnel

The Pengshanling Tunnel and its connecting roads project starts from Puxian Road, travels northeast for 1.37 kilometers through the tunnel under Pengshan Ridge, then heads west to reach the intersection with Shuangyang Middle Road. The total length

is 3.845 kilometers, including a 1.32-kilometer-long tunnel and 2.525 kilometers of connecting roads at both ends of the tunnel.

The project adopts a separated design for the main motor vehicle tunnel and the non-motorized vehicle and water supply tunnel. The main motor vehicle tunnel has a

lane width of 2×3.75 meters and a clear height of 5 meters. The non-motorized vehicle and water supply tunnel has a clear width of 6.6 meters and a clear height of 3.5 meters. The water supply pipeline is buried underground. The connecting roads are designed as urban first-class arterial roads, with two-way six lanes and a road cross-section of 48

meters. The designed driving speed is 50 kilometers per hour. It is expected to open to traffic by the end of 2007.
