Hongshan Waterfall is located in Hongshan Township, over 600 meters above sea level. With an average annual temperature 4 to 6 degrees Celsius lower than that of the urban area, the air here is fresh and the climate is cool in summer and autumn. A winding stream cascades down from a cliff over 80 meters high, and the mist created by the falling water forms beautiful rainbows under the sunlight—hence the name Hongshan Waterfall. The famous ancient Chinese local historian He Qiaoyuan once visited this place and was inspired to write a poem:

“The red sun shines upon heaven and earth, while white snow-like spray falls in showers; even a passing Taoist is not startled by the thunderous roar.”

The area around the waterfall is covered with towering ancient trees in various shapes, including sturdy and majestic ancient pines and camphor trees that require three people to encircle, as well as secondary forests with twisting vines.

The dense tangle of vines and the colorful array of rare flowers and plants make it a wonderful destination for people to connect with nature.

Hongshan Township: Established in 1987. Located in the northwest of the district, it is 60 kilometers from the urban area. Covering an area of 21 square kilometers with a population of 11,000, it governs four village committees: Sushan, Hongshan, Songjiaoshan, and Baifeng. The main agricultural products are vegetables, fruits, and bamboo.
