Hongshan is a place of beautiful mountains and clear waters, rich in talent and promise, offering vast potential for rural eco-tourism development. The Party Committee and government of Hongshan Township have taken into full consideration the area’s natural resources, regional positioning, and development foundation, and are committed to creating a "Rainbow Township" that is vibrant in color, where water meets sky, and where one can return to a pastoral life. This will establish a rural tourism layout consisting of “one core, two belts, three sites, and four brand identities.” Through these initiatives, Hongshan Township has gradually evolved from a beautiful countryside known for growing "red sweet potatoes" into a well-established brand for rural leisure tourism and vacationing.

Hongshan Township boasts unique natural landscapes. Also called Fengshan (Phoenix Mountain), legend has it that phoenixes often perched here in ancient times. The township is also named after a waterfall within its borders, where the water cascades like a rainbow—hence the name Hongshan. The Waterfall Scenic Area is an important part of the tourist attractions along Luojiang District’s riverside avenue. With a drop of over 80 meters, the scenic area spans 350 acres, including 250 acres of scenic farmland, 50 acres of bamboo groves, as well as virgin forests and subtropical evergreen broadleaf forests.

Hongshan Horse-Riding Fort is located at the entrance of Hongshan, at an elevation of 470 meters and covering an area of 200 acres. It features a pristine ecological environment, expansive wilderness, and was historically a site for troop garrisoning and training. From its vantage point, visitors can take in panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, making them feel on top of the world.

The Pengtong Ancient Residential Complex is located in Sushan Village and preserves the well-maintained Pengtong Ancient Mansion. The mansion exudes an ancient, serene charm and is rich in cultural appeal. With a long history, it retains traces of traditional culture, featuring exquisite classical architecture, simple yet grand designs, vibrant colors, brick carvings, stone engravings, plaques, and couplets—all embodying the wisdom of ancestors and recording the historical development of the region. The Wukeng Ecological Park of Hongshan, also situated in Sushan Village, covers an area of 3,000 acres and encompasses a complete ecosystem and pristine forests. Facing southwest, it includes deep trails, orchards, sightseeing gardens, ancient paths, and ancient trees. This project is well-suited for leisure activities and entertainment.

The Hongshan Sightseeing Garden is located in the Sushan Tea Farm, covering an area of 500 acres. It houses both ancient and modern tea processing machinery, is surrounded by well-preserved natural surroundings, and features relatively flat terrain—making it an ideal destination for sightseeing and tourism.

Hongshan has a long history with Chefang Street, which was once a relay station along the ancient courier route to the provincial capital (Fuzhou). To this day, well-preserved remnants of the old courier path still exist. Hongshan is also home to the unique wellness culture of Pengzu—a figure associated with longevity and health preservation. Experiencing this humanistic spirit helps foster a peaceful and natural state of mind, promoting harmony between humans and nature. At the border of Licheng and Xianyou lies a large mountain, inside of which a waterfall hangs like a rainbow—hence the mountain is named Hongshan. The township takes its name from the mountain and is thus called Hongshan Township.

Hongshan Village: Our village is located in the northern suburbs of Luojiang District, at 118°35′ east longitude and 25°16′ north latitude. It borders Luoxi Guangqiao and Zhongshan to the east, Songjiaoshan to the northwest, Sushan to the south, and Baifeng to the west. Hongshan Village enjoys a fresh environment and serves as the central administrative village of Hongshan Township in Luojiang District, Quanzhou City. The area hosts public facilities such as a credit cooperative, health clinic, kindergarten, and primary and secondary schools. The village is picturesque, with ancient towering trees and lucid, winding green waters. Its landscape features jagged rock cliffs and a waterfall that cascades like a rainbow. The village retains numerous well-preserved ancient residential buildings from the Qing Dynasty, especially rich in the “three carvings” (wood, brick, and stone) scenic resources of traditional dwellings.
