Yang-En University

Yang-En University was founded in 1987 by the Yang-En Foundation established by patriotic overseas Chinese Mr. Wu Qingxing and his family. It is the first private university in China authorized to issue nationally recognized bachelor's degree certificates and confer bachelor's degrees. In 2008, it passed the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching evaluation with excellent results, becoming the first private university in Fujian Province to pass the undergraduate teaching evaluation. The university currently has 8 colleges, 5 directly affiliated departments, and 18 undergraduate majors, covering five major academic disciplines: economics, management, liberal arts, law, and engineering. Its management system follows a president-responsibility model under the leadership of a board of directors; its development approach emphasizes connotative growth centered on quality improvement. Currently, the university is striving toward the goal of becoming an “open and internationalized” modern university.

The university covers an area of over 2,000 acres, with a campus nestled against mountains and beside water, boasting beautiful scenery. It is equipped with advanced synchronized digital recording classrooms, multimedia language labs, as well as various specialized laboratories including graphic design labs, audio labs, and computer monitoring labs. There are also large-scale simulation training bases and on- and off-campus practical teaching facilities. The university has one provincial-level public basic course experimental teaching platform and one “12th Five-Year Plan” higher education experimental teaching demonstration center. It also features a large library that meets teaching and research needs, a sports and cultural center that can accommodate 10,000 people, and various sports facilities.

Majia Town: Established as Majia Commune in 1971, restructured as a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1992.
