Kinmen National Park

Kinmen boasts a wealth of cultural heritage sites and rich natural ecology. The county is home to 21 national historic monuments, 11 of which are located within Kinmen National Park — these include two second-grade monuments such as the Cai Family Ancestral Hall in Qionglin, WenTai Pagoda, the Huang Family’s YouTang Villa in Shuitou, and the Xujiang XiaoWo Cluster of Steles, along with third-grade monuments such as the Qiu Lianggong Tomb, HanYingYunGen Stele, ZhenWei Mansion, Qionglin Three Chastity Memorial Archway, the Stone Gate of Haiyin Temple, Shuiwei Pagoda, and the Cai Panlong Tomb. Each of these historic sites bears the marks of its journey through history.

In addition to traditional villages and cultural relics, the park features a hilly terrain composed of granite-gneiss, creating a unique natural environment. Due to its proximity to the mainland, it serves as a stopover site for migratory birds. To date, 199 species of wild birds have been recorded here, offering significant research and interpretive value.

Kinmen National Park has established the Ru Shan Visitor Center

, Zhongshanlin Visitor Center, and Lieyu Visitor Center. Among them, the Zhongshanlin Visitor Center is located within Zhongshan Memorial Forest. Its red-and-gray architecture stands out vividly against the surrounding greenery.

The visitor centers showcase the three major tourism resources of Kinmen National Park: military relics, natural ecology, and cultural history. The Panoramic Ecology Exhibition Hall presents key ecological habitats in Kinmen through a 360-degree display, offering a realistic and immersive experience; the Battle History and Relics section mainly features photos and text descriptions, as well as a variety of weapons that witnessed historic battles; additionally, the center provides multimedia film interpretation services (groups of 10 or more need to book at least three days in advance).
