The event lasts for a whole month — the Kinmen Clam Festival is back again!

The Kinmen County Government Tourism Department stated that the “2014 Summer Glow: Kinmen Maritime Style – Kinhu Beach Clam Festival” will run from June 28 to July 28, spanning a full month. The event includes over 30 activities such as an open sea swimming relay race in the Kinmen-Xiamen waters, the Kinmen Spirits Night – Golden Party, Indigenous People’s Harvest Festivals from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and beyond, combat camp activities, military-themed sand sculpture exhibitions, net-fishing experience activities (by reservation), clam cuisine tastings, and more.

In addition, this year also sees the launch of the “Explore Kinmen, the Island of Heroes” Combat Camp, featuring dynamic experiences such as paintball field combat, military artillery drill practice, high-altitude rope challenges, and canoeing. It invites student leaders from universities and colleges across Taiwan to take on the challenge. Beyond real battlefield experiences, the Kinmen County Government has also partnered with an online game company for the first time. The company has sponsored the release of the “World of Tanks Kinmen Limited Edition Product Pack.” The cover design is centered around the M-5 Light Tank, nicknamed the “Bear of Kinmen,” which became famous for its role in the Battle of Guningtou in Kinmen, along with Kinmen’s battlefield scenery. Among them, the “Kinmen Battlefield Free Travel Guide” is bundled with the product pack and is now available at convenience stores across Taiwan.
