Liuan Pagoda

Liuan Pagoda is located on Shuangyu Mountain in Liuan Village, Taocheng Town, Yongchun County, and was originally named Xian Dong Pagoda. There were originally two pagodas: one named Wenming Pagoda and the other Wenfeng Pagoda, collectively referred to as Liuan Pagoda. It is said that Yongchun is situated on a “net-shaped” geomantic site, and the ancestors built Liuan Pagoda to protect this precious site by locking its dragon veins to prevent villains from casting spells to harm it or causing its energy to dissipate.

The pagoda is an octagonal seven-story plain-surfaced hollow close-eaved pyramidal stone structure. The body of the pagoda is entirely built from granite slabs, interspersed with reinforced concrete pillars. It stands 25 meters tall in total, with each level adorned with bracket sets (dougong) that support the layer above. Each tier features projecting eaves. The orange-red glazed tiles contrast sharply with the light gray granite, while the surrounding green trees set off the structure, making it appear particularly elegant and majestic. It has become a landmark building in Yongchun today.
