I can’t even remember who told me that there’s a great café with delicious desserts tucked away behind a building near Yongchun Station. I’ve always wanted to go but never had the chance to get off at “Yongchun Station.” This time, purely by coincidence, an interview with a certain platform was scheduled here. That’s why I often say that people and food are also about fate, isn’t it?

After getting off at Yongchun MRT Station and following the address, you’ll notice that a section of the building numbers disappears between two structures. Yes, maple maple café is located right behind this building. It may seem a bit hard to find, but it actually has a peaceful vibe amidst the hustle and bustle.

The lighting, colors, and mezzanine-style decor of the café make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. Of course, part of that is because we arrived early, so there were few customers, creating a tranquil and cozy atmosphere.

Right to the right as you enter is a set of high stools that I personally love—perfect for solo visitors who want to enjoy coffee and cake, read a magazine or newspaper, or just mindlessly scroll through their phones.

Inside the first floor is a row of slightly narrow but not cramped two-person seating areas.

The mezzanine level offers more comfortable sofas, making it better suited for longer stays or chats among a group of friends.

When I went up to the second floor, I discovered that this café actually serves alcoholic beverages. Apparently, quite a few customers come here in the evening for drinks.

Indeed, there’s also a flyer posted at the entrance advertising the “wine tasting events” that the café occasionally hosts.

In addition to basic drinks like coffee and fruit tea, the café also offers summer-friendly slushies.

All the coffee is freshly ground, and one of my favorite things about visiting a café is the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.

Aside from the usual café light meals, they also serve lunch and dinner here—even roast chicken, which is completely unexpected given the café’s appearance.

The cake display case features a different handmade cake each day, all priced just over NT$100.

I wouldn’t call myself a coffee connoisseur, but if I have a choice, I usually go for a “latte.” I’m sure my barista would scold me for not being more adventurous (laughs). Seriously though, the latte here is pretty good—even when it got cold from waiting during the interview and photos, the coffee aroma was still smooth and delightful. The milk foam was delicate, with a slight bitter aftertaste from the coffee that made it even better.

“Banana Cream Pie” – NT$130. The initial hit of chocolate powder is quick but fleeting, quickly overtaken by the silky, melt-in-your-mouth texture of the cream, along with the long-lasting, sweet fragrance of bananas that’s simply enchanting. Even more impressive is how the sweetness remains rich but never overwhelming—you could finish the whole thing without feeling sick of it.

Plus, the perfectly crisp pie crust is really delicious. If it weren’t for the fact that it was someone else paying and I felt bad about ordering more, I would’ve loved to try two more desserts to share with everyone.
