Putou Village

Putou Village in Wulijie Town is located in the northwest of Yongchun County. With fertile land, abundant water resources, and well-developed transportation, it has long been known as the "Golden Putou." The village currently has 1,197 mu of arable land and 3,186 mu of mountainous land. It comprises 13 villager groups with a population of 3,321. In 2014, it received 82,000 rural tourists and generated an annual tourism revenue of 3.25 million yuan. Putou Village was recognized as a county-level beautiful countryside demonstration village in 2014 and a municipal-level beautiful countryside demonstration village in 2015.

Putou Village currently features fruit and vegetable picking gardens, including 500 mu of Peach and Plum Paradise, 100 mu of high-quality "Feizixiao" lychee, 260 mu of red-flesh pitaya picking garden, 20 mu of Taiwan Ying'an No. 5 grape picking garden, 30 mu of red-flesh pomelo picking garden, 15 mu of strawberry picking garden, and one leisure fishing area. The village also preserves rural culture by exploring historical figures and overseas Chinese cultural resources, utilizing the Lin Family Ancestral Hall and Lin Family Central Residence to establish the Putou Impression Museum and the Sages’ Shrine. It protects intangible cultural heritage by reviving the rattan shield martial arts, establishing a village-level martial arts performance team to both preserve traditional martial culture and increase villagers' income. Additionally, the village integrates humanity with nature by constructing an oracle bone script-themed park—Xialing Ancient Jetty—on a natural stone cliff.

There are also 36 well-preserved traditional Minnan ancient houses, among which the "Jinshi Mansion" (Scholar’s Mansion), also known as Shengben Hall—a residence that produced two imperial examination scholars—is particularly exquisite. With its red bricks, blue tiles, upturned eaves, large wooden structures, brick-and-stone walls, corridors, courtyards, stone-paved grounds, crescent ponds, and enclosures, the exquisitely crafted details are breathtaking. The vividly colored paintings and monochrome artworks, along with classic wood carvings, stone carvings, brick carvings, and clay carvings, depict figures, historical allusions, daily life, flowers, grass, birds, fish, and beasts. The rich and diverse content, with lifelike imagery, offers a glimpse into the culture, lifestyle, and aesthetic tastes of the time. Another notable site is the Shunan Mountain Villa, built during the Republican era by the renowned patriotic overseas Chinese Lin Guangting. This building is a fusion of Chinese and Western styles, featuring a distinct British architectural flair, and was even honored with a plaque inscribed by the famous anti-Japanese general Jiang Guangnai.
