Introduction:

The main streams of the Xiulingxi Wufeng Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Yongchun County originate from the northern and southern branches of Peimin Mountain and Zeshui Mountain, respectively. These two tributaries converge at Wuzhongpuwei, flow into Xiulingxi, then into Taoxi, and finally into the Jinjiang River. Wufeng Town is adjacent to the Wuyi Reservoir attraction in Wulijie to the east, and to tourist spots such as Baizhangyan in Penghu, Chengxiang Dongxi Grand Canyon, and Niumulin to the west. With its advantageous geographical location, it forms a connected route with existing tourist attractions in Yongchun. The town has essentially become a modern, prosperous, eco-friendly, and culturally rich tourism hub in central Yongchun.

The banks of Xiulingxi are surrounded by mountains with towering peaks, offering numerous ecotourism attractions. In the Zaoling section of Xiulingxi, there is a natural stream stone landscape stretching 2 kilometers in length, with the stream being about 40 meters wide. The area is covered with naturally formed, uniquely shaped stones of various sizes, creating a spectacular view. At the confluence of Xiulingxi and Sanjiaoxi, leveraging the terrain, elements of water conservancy, landscape, culture, and leisure have been integrated to build Quanzhou’s first township-level wetland park. Covering an area of approximately 100 acres, the park not only manages non-point source pollution in the stream but also further treats rural domestic sewage. It serves as both an environmental project and a flood control initiative, creating a scenic project that combines “water purification, watershed management, leisure for farmers, and rural tourism.”

Wufeng Town: Located in the northwest of Yongchun County, at the southern foot of Tianma Mountain, Wufeng Town is about ten kilometers from the county seat. The area is surrounded by mountains and boasts beautiful scenery. There are three mountains in the central part that resemble three turtles. A local folk rhyme says, “Three turtles march in line, guarding the water outlet like a gong.” Because turtles and tortoises are of the same kind, and tortoise is considered more elegant, the area is commonly known as “Tortoise Head,” later renamed “Aofeng” (Tortoise Peak).

Aofeng is situated at a key transportation junction between Yongchun and Dehua counties. In ancient times, a post station was often set up near the bridgehead, which led to the development of a small market town. The single-arch stone bridge on Pujie Street and the ancient banyan tree beside the bridge pier are symbols of Qiaotoupu.
