Yongchun Taixi National Wetland Park

Yongchun Taixi National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

The planned area of Taixi National Wetland Park is located in the eastern part of Yongchun County, mainly covering the Taixi River, Xialingxi River, the Wuyi Reservoir, as well as the surrounding ecological conservation forests and some green spaces. It consists of beautiful rural wetland landscapes in the upper reaches, modern urban landscapes in the middle reaches, and a composite wetland-forest landscape in the lower reaches. The area combines the typical river–reservoir wetland ecosystem of the mountainous regions in southern Fujian and the typical wetland–forest composite ecosystem of the mountainous coastal areas in eastern China. It spans six townships—Dongguan, Dongping, Taocheng, Wulijie, Shigu, and Wufeng—with a total area of 332.1 hectares, including 238.7 hectares of wetland. Within the planned area, there are not only the Dongguan Bridge, a provincial-level key cultural relic protection site—a Song Dynasty covered beam-style ancient bridge—as well as the Literature Museum of Yu Guangzhong, a renowned poet of nostalgia, but also abundant wildlife resources. As such, it holds high scientific and conservation value.

The entire Taixi Wetland Park is divided into five functional zones: conservation zone, restoration and rehabilitation zone, education and exhibition zone, rational use zone, and management and service zone. It will be developed into a national wetland park that integrates conservation, science education, scientific research, teaching practice, birdwatching, and environmental education for youth.
