Cliff Carvings at Kuixing Rock

The Cliff Carvings at Kuixing Rock are a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Cliff Carvings at Kuixing Rock, also known as the Western Trinity Carvings at Kuixing Rock, are located on the cliffs of Kuixing Mountain in Taochang Community, Shigu Town, Yongchun County, Quanzhou City. They were carved during the Southern Song Dynasty. Three high-relief standing Buddha statues were sculpted from a natural boulder: the central figure is Amitabha Buddha, the left is Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva (to the right of Amitabha), and the right is Guanyin Bodhisattva (to the left of Amitabha). All are barefoot and stand on lotus pedestals, with a total height of 3.4 meters. The carvings are exquisitely crafted, with smooth lines and elegant forms, making them valuable materials for the study of Buddhist sculpture art from the Song Dynasty.

On October 7, 2019, the Cliff Carvings at Kuixing Rock were included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
