Taipingling Xianggong Pagoda

Taipingling Xianggong Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Taipingling Xianggong Pagoda is located in Taipingling Natural Village, Xincheng Village, Zhongshan Town, Wuping County, and dates back to the Ming Dynasty.

Description: Built in the 30th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1551), it is an octagonal, seven-story brick pagoda of the pavilion style, hollow inside. The base has sides 2.3 meters long, walls 1.5 meters thick, and the structure stands 17.4 meters tall. The foundation is buried underground, and the pagoda body gradually decreases in size from the bottom up, with arched doors staggered on each level, corbelled eaves, a spire top, and a gourd-shaped finial. The 1st to 5th stories of the pagoda are hollow, while the 6th and 7th stories are solid.

Protected area: A circular area with a 20-meter radius centered on the pagoda.

In 2018, Taipingling Xianggong Pagoda was announced as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Xincheng Village: Located northeast of Zhongshan Town, Xincheng Village specializes in flue-cured tobacco, mesona cultivation, and fish farming. The village has a total population of 2,453 people, comprising 21 villager groups across 4 natural villages. The village covers approximately 13 square kilometers, including 18.55 acres of arable land and 7,300 acres of forested land. The labor force numbers around 1,500. In 2012, the village’s total output value was 48 million yuan, with an average per capita income of 6,500 yuan for farmers and village fiscal revenue of 165,000 yuan.
