Southeast Asian Style Garden Water Conservancy Scenic Area

The Southeast Asian Style Garden Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located in the center of Overseas Chinese Town, Zhangzhou Changshan Development Zone. With beautiful surroundings and convenient transportation, it is a key eco-tourism project designated by the development zone. Relying on the Neishuangshan Reservoir, the scenic area is planned to be developed into a water conservancy scenic spot rich in Southeast Asian characteristics. The total planned area of the scenic area is 1.36 km², with an estimated total investment of 500 million yuan. It includes several major parts: the core area, a country park, the Shuangshan Ecological Park, and the Southeast Asian Style Grand Hotel.

The Neishuangshan Reservoir in the core area is a small (Type II) reservoir with a total storage capacity of 845,000 m³. The water is clear and of good quality, having been tested by authoritative departments and meeting the national Class III standard. The plan is to utilize these naturally high-quality water resources to set up water-based recreational activities for visitors to enjoy.

The area around the reservoir in the core zone consists of hills and valleys, presenting a conical shape in space. Together with the presence of lakes and reservoirs, it provides an excellent foundation for developing resort tourism. The existing Qingyun Temple covers an area of about 10 mu and is an important religious and ceremonial site in Changshan.

The core area also plans to construct characteristic architectural complexes such as Vietnam Village, Malaysia Village, Indonesia Village, Thailand Village, and Singapore Village. Supporting facilities include the Overseas Chinese Cultural History Museum and the Overseas Chinese Cultural Exchange Center, highlighting the culture of returned overseas Chinese in the Haixi region and Southeast Asian folk culture.

Country Park: Located on the periphery of the core area, it relies on the pristine forest land and specialty orchards of Changshan. While maintaining the existing natural landscape, leisure trails and landscape plants will be added to provide nearby urban residents with access to countryside and lakeside recreation.

Shuangshan Ecological Park: With a total planned land area of 276 mu, the park will focus on ecological sightseeing by planting precious tree species and flowers with Southeast Asian characteristics within the green space system, aiming to create a distinctive ecological park for the Haixi Overseas Chinese Town.

Southeast Asian Style Grand Hotel: Covering a total land area of 74 mu, this is a comprehensive project integrating vacation, commercial, entertainment, and residential buildings. The Grand Hotel is not only a supporting facility for the Southeast Asian Style Garden but also an important part of the district’s urban complex.

Accommodation: The Southeast Asian Style Grand Hotel integrates vacation, commercial, entertainment, and residential functions.
